A Farm Practice, entitled "Production of Pole Snap Beans Using Organic Fertilizer (Compost)" was conducted at Lalaan I, Silang, Cavite from September 1994 to January 1995. The project aimed to determine the return of invesment (ROI) from pole snap bean production under Silang condition; to put into actual practice the theories learned in the classroom and to increase the yield of pole snap beans through the application of organic fertilizer specifically compost. Pole snap bean (white variety) was planted in 500 square meter field. All the necessary cultural management practices, including the application of Trichoderma induced compost were employed. Green pods pole snap beans were harvested starting 45 days after planting. A total amount of V4039.65 was invested in the project. Recovered were 305.5 kgs of harvested green pods of pole snap beans and were sold at P20.00/kilo. The gross income amounted to P6,110.00 and the net income was P2,070.35. The return of investment was 51.25%.
