A farm practice was conducted at Mangubat's Hog Project at Esperanza, Alfonso, Cavite from October 3, 1994 to January 28, 1995 to acquire and have managerial and manipulative skills in hog raising and to determine its actual cost and return. Ten weanlings were used in the project. They were fed with commercial hog starter mash on the first month and hog grower mash from the second month up to the termination of the project. Feeding was done twice a day: at 6:00 in the morning and 5:30 in the
afternoon.
Fresh and clean drinking water was made available at all times. The hogs were dewormed on the second month of the project operation. The project had an actual cost of P33,822.62 and earned a net profit of P9,662.88. The actual on Investment (ROI) of 22.22% was better than the projected 13.01%.
