VIDAD, MARITES PLIANA, " The Riviera Golf and Country Chub, Silang, Cavite", Undergraduate Field Study, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Economics, Cavite State University, April 1998. Adviser : Ms. Ulna C. Abogadie.
A three-month field study was conducted at the Riviera Golf and Country Club located at By-Pass Road, Aguinaldo Highway, Silting, Cavite from November 1997 to February 1998. It aimed to enable the student acquire worthwhile learning experiences needed when she will enter into the world of work, and gain knowledge in the operations of the club, especially in the man ement aspects. During the conduct of the field study, there was an exposure to the different activities of the club- its operation, marketing, financial, and management aspects. Data were gathered through actual participation in the club's activities, observations, from the records of the club, and personal interviews with the employees. The information gathered in this study covered only the data of the club's one year operation (1997). After evaluating the club, it was found that the Riviera Golf and Country Club was suffering from the effects of peso devaluation. The increase in prices of construction supplies, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, grasses, machines and facilities needed in the development and improvement of the clubhouse and golf courses posed a real financial burden. In addition, the increase in interest rates implemented by banks is also a problem of the club.
