The study, "Response of Lychee (Litchi chinensis, Sonn.) Seed to Different Seed Pre-Germination Treatments" was conducted to determine the effect of the different pre-germination treatments on germination of the seeds of lychee and the percentage survival of lychee seedlings. The seeds rubbed in sand paper and seeds refri-gerated for 0 hours germinated 12.022 and 12.882 days after sowing. The seeds soaked in 3% sulfuric acid solution for 15 minutes gave the highest percentage of germination with a mean of 91.250%. One hundred percent survival was obtained from seeds treated with hot water for 60 seconds. The other treatments, however, did give a percentage survival of as low as 93%. Basically, seeds treated with different scarifiers promoted early germination as compared to the control.
