Abstract: SERMANA, OSCAR, ALANO and CRUTO, HELBERT, DE LA CRUZ, OBER'S SPECIAL MACAROONS, An Enterprise Development Project, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Marketing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 1999. Adviser: Dr. Maria Ersando. The enterprise was conducted at Salitran, Dasmaririas, Cavite. The project was named OBER'S SPECIAL MACAROONS ENTERPRISE. Its objective was to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in Marketing into actual business operation. The study focused on the production, marketing, and financial aspects of the business. The project was conducted for three months and it involved manufacturing and marketing of special macaroons. Their target market was food retail stores, public markets, school canteens and private individuals who have a taste for special delicacies. The owners procured their raw materials three times a week at Anabu, Imus, Cavite which were used for one production process. The different activities in the production of macaroons, involved procurement of raw materials, preparation of mixture, baking, wrapping, and packaging. These were all performed by each member of the business. In marketing the finished goods, the owners sell macaroons every after production schedule. They used delivery to customers made in orders and personal selling techniques in the process of distribution. In this case, the owners realized that they get higher returns in made to order situation. The demand for the product was determined by some factors such as, income growth, consumer tastes, and the sales of soft drinks and coffee. The owners started the project with an initial capital of P 40,000.00.This was used in the operation of the enterprise. Financial analysis of macaroon business was evaluated, and the visual indicators which include income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet of the business in its whole operation from December 1998 to February 1999 were computed. The financial ratios were also used in analyzing the performance of the business. Included are the return on investment, net profit margin, gross profit margin return on assets. Based on the evaluation and analysis, production and marketing of macaroons successfully generated a high earning. It generated a net income of P 11,004.80 which resulted to profitability of the business. Every enterprise encounters problems. In the case of OBER'S special macaroons, the main problem encountered was the fluctuating price of raw materials and sometimes its unavailability. Under other conditions, problems such as the changing quality of dessicated coconut and loss from production affected the operating process of the business. Duties and responsibilities of both proponents were identified and performed that resulted to the smooth operation of the enterprise.
