This study was conducted from September to October 2019 in selected secondary schools in Amadeo, Cavite to know the impact of coaching to the performance of basketball varsity athletes. Specifically, this study aimed to determine the following: (1) demographic characteristics of basketball varsity athletes in Amadeo in terms of age, sex and year level; (2) preferred coaching style of basketball varsity athletes in Amadeo; (3) coaching style preference to the performance as perceived by basketball varsity athletes in Amadeo; (4) significant difference coaching style of basketball varsity athletes when grouped according to their demographic characteristics and; (5) if there is a significant relationship between the coaching style preference and its impact to the performance as perceived by basketball varsity athletes in Amadeo.
Descriptive research was used in this study. T-test was used to the respondent of the study were 60 varsity athletes in selected secondary schools in Amadeo, Cavite.
The results showed that the athletes performed very well. This means that their performance exceeded. All goals, objectives and targets were achieved above established standard. Therefore, others sports must be explored as crossing-training for other players.
