Abstract: DEL ROSARIO, ROCHELLE RAMOS. Gourmet Farms, Incorporated Silang, Cavite. Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2004. Adviser: Ms. Lina C. Abogadie. A field study was conducted at Gourmet Farms, Inc., located at Silang, Cavite. It aimed to: enable the student to apply the knowledge learned in the course to actual business situations; provide necessary information regarding organization and management, products and marketing of the firm; and identify the problems encountered by the firm and recommend feasible solutions to the problems identified. Necessary data and supplemental information were gathered through interviews with the employees and observations of the firm’s operations. Other data were also gathered from the company’s files and records, and reference materials related to this study. From a pilot agricultural organic project of three idle plots of land in Cavite, arose Gourmet Farms, Inc.(GFI). Products such as first-class roasted beans, natural herbal teas, vegetables, herbs, spices, sauces, spreads and dressings were developed in dedication to providing its consumers an ultimate dining experience featuring not only its first-class cuisine but also distinct quality of service. Today, the company has an outlet in Trattoria, Shangri-la Plaza to cater its fast growing clientele in various locations in Metro Manila. Every product introduced in the market is backed up with intensive research and tests. Contrary to scepticism, GFI has strategically captured its own market niche and created its own demand for its products. The company has developed a loyal following and an excellent reputation. Presently, its clients are able to enjoy GFI products at the convenience of their homes now that Gourmet’s products are sold at the Delis and leading supermarkets. Data gathering was one of the major problems encountered by the author. The company has a strict policy regarding record confidentiality, thus the student had a hard time completing the information needed to finish this report. Lack of computer expertise and the distant location of the firm were also the problems faced by the student.
