Abstract: CHAVEZ, BEULAH EUNICE V., FERRAER, VANESSA D., MONTOYA, AGNES JANE H. Technological Advancements in HR and Productivity in Selected Manufacturing Companies. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Human Resource Development Management, Cavite State University, lndang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mary Grace A. Ilagan. Technology is considered as one of the most essential part of today's world where most of the affairs specifically in the corporate industry are done with the use of technology in order to become competitive. One of its foundations would be the human resource department in which it focuses more on the human side of the business. The purpose of this study is to gain an in depth understanding of what role technological advancement can play on human resource and productivity of selected manufacturing companies in Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna. The participants of the study were 37 human resource managers or representatives with a minimum of five years of tenure. A quota sampling technique was utilized to select the participants of the study. Using scoring and t-test, it was found that most of the companies still prefer to utilize traditional media and methods in executing their tasks. Moreover, ratios and t-test determined the level of productivity before and after technological advancements and it was revealed that productivity only varied when screening applicants using an electronic mail. This leads to the conclusion that the manufacturing companies in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Metro Manila prefer to execute duties traditionally because they prefer quality over quantity and that the types of industry did not necessarily need to utilize technology in some of their human resource functions. Thus, it is recommended to further analyze the type of industry whether it needs to utilize technological advancements or not.
