Indang, Cavite. April 2004. Adviser : Dr. Nelia C. Cresino. The Field Study was conducted at Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. Muntinlupa Plant located at Km. 29 Bo. Tunasan, National Highway, Muntinlupa City. It aimed to: enable the student to be exposed to real world of business through actual participation in the operation of the firm; describe the organizations and management, marketing and operation of Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc.; identify the products offered by the company; and identify the problems encountered by the firm and recommend feasible solutions to the problems identified. Necessary data and supplemental information of the study were gathered through observations, and interviews with different employees of the firm. Other data were also gathered from the company's manuals and records. Pepsi's unique and delicious flavor was born at a neighborhood soda fountain in New Bern North Carolina in 1898. John Clarkin of Minnesota, who came with the American forces, applied for a franchise to bottle Pepsi in the country. On October 16, 1946, Clarkin organized the first Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of the Philippine Islands and became its first President and General Manager. The company's first office was located in Quezon City at Aurora Blvd. The first bottling plant in Quezon City was completed. The other plants built in other part of the Philippines include Muntinlupa plant. Some of the company's problems were also discussed in the study, as well as its future plans. Field experiences, observations, reflections/ insights and recommendations of the student trainee were likewise included.
