Implementation and Effectiveness of Closed Circuit Television camera as Anti-

The study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 at Poblacion I to 4 Indang,
Cavite, to assess the implementation and effectiveness of Closed-Circuit Television camera in
selected barangay of Indang, Cavite. Specifically it aimed to; identify the level of Closed Circuit
Television camera as Anti-Criminality Campaign as assessed by the police, barangay official,
and establishment owner; determine the level of effectiveness of Closed Circuit Television
camera as Anti-Criminality Campaign as assessed by the police, barangay official, and
establishment owner; identify the significant relationship of Closed Circuit Television camera as
Anti Criminality Campaign as assessed by the police, barangay official, and establishment

owner; determine the significant difference of Closed Circuit Television camera as Anti-
Criminality Campaign as assessed by the police, barangay official, and establishment owner;

and identify the significant difference of Closed Circuit Television camera as Anti-Criminality
Campaign as assessed by the police, barangay official, and establishment owner. Quantitative
researched was used in the study. Survey questionnaires were done to gather pertinent data.
The participants were composed of three sets with a total number of three hundred sixty (360).
The first set were composed of thirty six (36) police officer of Indang Municipal Police Station.
The second set were composed of thirty-four (34) barangay officials. And the last set were
composed of two hundred ninety (290) establishment owner from Poblacion I to 4.
As to the level of implementation of Closed-Circuit Television camera as Anti Criminality
Campaign, the police primarily utilize the same as for purposes of crime investigation and
serve as reliable eye of the law enforcement. On the other hand, the barangay officials utilize
the Closed-Circuit Television camera for the safety and monitoring of the barangay. While the
establishment owners are relying on the Closed-Circuit Television camera to provide a reliable
source of evidence because among the three participants, they are more prone in crimes of

theft and robbery. However, the participants were not fully complied with the standard that is
prescribed by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
As to level of Effectiveness of Closed-Circuit Television camera as Anti Criminality
Campaign, it serves a major contribution to the police especially in crime prevention,
suppression, and crime detection. The police are relying on the footages as a basis on crime
investigation. While for the barangay officials, they use Closed Circuit Television camera
primarily for monitoring in crime-prone area and to have a reliable source of evidence as well.
For the establishment owners, they installed Closed Circuit Television camera for the protection
and monitoring of their goods. In addition, the psychological effect of the presence of
surveillance serves as great instrument to prevent crime.

As to significant relationship between level of Implementation and level of Effectiveness
of Closed-Circuit Television camera as Anti-Criminality Campaign, each of them has a
significant role in Anti-Criminality Campaign. When there is a great level of implementation, it
will have a great level of effectiveness as well. As to significant difference among the
assessment of level of Implementation of Closed-Circuit Television camera as Anti-Criminality
Campaign, the three participants got a disparity based on their purpose, the police used
Closed Circuit Television camera as one of the best sources that can be use in solving crime
and arresting offenders. While the barangay officials are utilizing Closed Circuit Television
Camera mainly for effectively monitoring the places especially those crime prone area.
On the other hand, the establishment owners mainly utilize the Closed-Circuit Television camera
for the protection and surveillance of their goods.
As to significant difference on the level of effectiveness of Closed-Circuit Television
camera, the three participants got a significant difference too based on their intended purpose.
The police see the Closed-Circuit Television camera as crime preventing tool while on the part
of the barangay officials, they often use Closed Circuit Television camera for an effective
monitoring and quick response in times of accidents. On the other hand, the establishment
owners utilize Closed Circuit Television camera as their primary security measure against theft
and other lawless elements.
