The experiment "Response of Peanut to Seed Inoculant" was conducted at Calumpang Cerca, Indang, Cavite from May to August 1981 to determine the effects of different concentrations of seed inoculant on the growth and yield of peanut. Seeds of BPI P9 variety of peanut were inoculated at different concentrations: Treatment 2 with 1 tablespoon of seed inoculant per kilo of seeds, Treatment 3 with 1 1/2 tablespoons of seed inoculant per kilo of seeds and Treatment 4 with 2 tablespoons of seed inoculant per kilo of seeds. Inoculated seeds were planted on a 400 square-meter field which was used for the purpose. Treatment 4 (2 tbsp. of seed inoculant/kilo of seeds) produced the highest percentage of recovery and number of pods. It also produced the heaviest weight of fresh pods, dry pods and seeds among other treatments. Based on the results of this study, the higher the amount of seed inoculant the higher yield of the crop is produced.
