Abstract: DOMASIG, JANPERSON S., ERSANDO, GIEZEL P., AND TUIBEO, MARIE ANGELICA G. Financial Allocation and Perceived Value of Grant-in-Aid among CHED Tulong Dunong Grantees of Cavite State University Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Financial Management. College of Economics, Management and Development Studies, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2019. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Princess Feliciano. The study was conducted from August to December 2019 in Cavite State University, Main Campus,to determine the level of perceived value of grant-in-aid and financial allocation among CHED Tulong Dunong grantees. Specifically, the study has also aimed to: (1) determine the socio- demographic profile of the CHED Tulong Dunong grantees in terms of age, sex, year and course and number of semester as grantee; (2) determine the level of perceived value of grant-in-aid in terms of financial means and persistence; (3) determine the financial allocation of the grantees in terms of educational, household and personal; (4) determine if there is a significant difference in level of perceived value of grant-in-aid when grouped according to socio demographic profile of the grantees; (5) determine if there is a significant difference in financial allocation of the college student grantees when grouped according to socio demographic profile of the grantees; (6) determine the relationship between the level of perceived value of grant-in-aid and financial allocation of the college student grantees; and (7) determine the issues or problems encountered in the allocation of grant given by CHED Tulong Dunong Program of the college student grantees. Descriptive, correlational and comparative research design were used in the study. The questionnaire served as the main instrument in gathering the data. A total of 146 student grantees of CHED Tulong Dunong Program were surveyed. The gathered data from the survey were analyzed using frequency count, mean, percentage, rank and standard deviation. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, Mann- Whitney U- Test, Kruskal Wallis H test and T test were also used to analyze the data. Majority of the participants were female and their age ranged from 18-27 years old. Most were in the fourth year level and grantee of the program for one to three semesters. The participants of the study had a moderate level of perceived value of grant-in-aid program in terms of financial means and low level of perceived value in terms of persistence. Over all, there was a moderate level of perceived value of grant-in aid program to CHED Tulong Dunong grantees. The study also revealed that the focus of the grantees' financial allocation is more on education related expense and for personal purposes. On the other hand, there was a positive significant relationship between the financial allocation and perceived value of grant-in aid in terms of financial means as indicator of perceived value of grant-in aid and educational allocation as a category for financial allocation. Lastly, delayed time of distribution is the most common problem encountered by the respondents regarding the grant-in aid program. Meanwhile, the grantees moderately value the program because it serves as a financial support on their education but not enough to cover all the education related expenses. Because of the delayed time of distribution of grants, they tend to save the fund for future expenses. Moreover, there is relationship as how they value the grant and where it would be allocated. Consequently, it recommended for CHED to release the fund on time to avoid the misallocation of the fund and use the money to where it is intended.
