Abstract: DELA VEGA, MARIS NATALINE., ELLAZAR, CHARLLYN S. and UMBARA, MARIA ROSA C. Country Initiatives Towards the Achievement of UN-SDG Goal 4- Quality Education in the three ASEAN Countries: Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in International Studies major in Southeast Asian Studies. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, June 2019. Adviser: Dr. Marietta C.Mojica. The study was conducted from September 2017 to May 2019 to determine and analyse the Country Initiatives towards the Achievement of UN-SDG Goal 4-Quality Education in the three ASEAN Countries: Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines from year 2011-2017. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the development agenda and national goals; determine the countries targets and indicators; describe national programs and projects (2016-2018); determine the status in quality education of people based on their respective targets and indicators; and determine the strength and weaknesses of the three countries. Secondary data and related studies were gathered from institutions such as Department of Education (DepEd), the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). Additional data were gathered through the internet.Due to limited financial resources, most of the information were gathered through online resources. The result of the study shows that Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines had been actively participating in the implementation of the national and global sustainable development agendas. There were already existing programs in government that can be aligned to the SDG targets and indicators. The Philippines had the highest total population of students enrolled among the three countries on the targets and indicators. However, despite of the three countries considerable progress, there are still some challenges on implementing quality education. There are lacked of appropriate infrastructure and facilities, qualified teachers and financial resources especially to the ethnic minority groups.
