The study aimed to determine the level of exposure of selected students at Cavite
State University to fake news on Facebook about Philippine politics; the response of selected
of Cavite State University to fake news about Philippine politics on Facebook through a.
Liking/Reacting, b. Commenting, and c. Sharing; the significant relationship of the level of
exposure and the response of selected students at Cavite State University to fake news about
Philippine politics on Facebook.
This study was conducted from January to March 2018 at Cavite State University
— Main, Indang, Cavite.
Survey questionnaire were used data in the study which applied descriptive-
correlational method of research. Purposive sampling technique was applied in choosing the
participants, which were all students of AB Journalism enrolled in the second semester of
academic year 2017-2018 and were willing to answer the survey questionnaire.
Results showed that the participants had a very high exposure to fake news about
Philippine politics on Facebook, and they were rarely responding to it through liking/reacting,
commenting, and sharing. The relationship between the two variables of the study had no
significance.
