Abstract: REBILLO, MERYL LOVE S. Implication of Converting Agricultural to Commercial Lands in Selected Barangays in the City of Trece Martires. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2018. Adviser: Mr.- Gil D. Ramos. This study was conducted from January 30 to February 10, 2018 in Trece Martires City, Cavite to analyze the implication of converting agricultural to commercial lands in selected barangays m the city of Trece Martires- Specifically% it aimed to: ( l) determine the status of land conversion in Trece Martires City; (2) determine the implications of land conversion to the residents and fanners of Trece Martires City; (3) determine how these implications affect the residents and farmers' current life; and (4) determine what the steps are being taken by the local government unit of Trece Martires City to alleviate the plight of the affected families. Gathered information and data were from the one-on-one interview with ten (10) local residents, three (3) fanners and two (2) different officials. The participants were from the selected barangays of Cabuco, Conchu, De Ocampo, Gregorio, and Hugo Perez. This study revealed information about the situation of the farmers, local residents and their family being affected by land conversion. This study dug-up information on how farmers and local resident are affected and how these affect their current life. This study also revealed that there was this disturbance compensation for those affected families and it was under the Republic Act 3488 which is an act to ordain the agricultural land reform code and to institute land reforms in the Philippines, including the abolition of tenancy andthe channeling of capital into industry, provide for the necessary implementing agencies, appropriate funds therefore and for other purposes.
