A study was conducted at the Goat Project of the Don Severino Agricultural College from June 22 to September 19, 1992 which aimed to measure and correlate testicular development with body weight and to determine the relationship of sexual behavior with testicular development and body weight. Testicular diameters of ten prepubertal bucks at different body weights were measured and recorded. Sexual activities of the bucks were also documented. Results showed that the rapid testicular growth phase occurred at an average body weight of 15.9 to 20.15 kg with a correlation coefficient of 0.631. The testicles grew at an average of 7.5 mm/kg gained during the rapid testicular growth phase. Licking, which was the first sexual manifestation, was observed to commence at a mean body weight of 16.87 kg and a mean testicle size of 183.5 mm. Other sexual activities such as rubbing/nudging, Flehmen reaction and mounting were observed to be prominent at mean body weight of 18.88 kg, 18.67 kg and 20.25 kg and testicular size of 191.6 mm, 195.7 mm and 202.6 mm, respectively. The mean body weights and testicular diameters at which sexual activities commenced were found to be statistically different from each other (P<.01).
