Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. January 2022. Adviser: V-Jay S. Eusebio, MS Crim. Juvenile delinquency is an unlawful behavior as a minor beyond parental control and therefore subject to legal action. In critical cases of juvenile delinquency, the family has been recognized as one of the primary contributing or inhibiting element to delinquent behaviors. The family roles create and maintain a balance in the family system. This study aimed to determine the influence of factors within family environment on the level of juvenile delinquency as well as the impact of family members and structures on the family dynamics and functioning in relation to behavior of child-in-conflict with the law. The child-in-conflict with the law is adjudged or having committed an offense under Philippine laws. The study used descriptive research design to examine the responses of selected respondents based on the given survey questionnaires. The results of this study showed a connection between those family related factors and juvenile delinquency. The findings revealed a strong positive impact that juveniles who do not receive quality parental supervision are at the greater risk to become delinquent. The children with uninvolved parenting cannot learn the proper way of behaving. The unhealthy home environment showed that children may be stressed by unfavored circumstances in poor physical home surroundings because of deviant family relationship. The children living in a single-parent family shows the potentials to commit in delinquent behavior due to lower level of parental functioning and monitoring. Therefore, the real predictor of juvenile delinquency among children is the lack of parental supervision and bonding with their parents. The unhealthy home environment develops negative inner workings and relationship. within the family members. Single-parenting structure influence the family dynamics and functioning due to lack of appropriate and constant monitoring to child.
