Abstract: MONICA JANE A. AGUILAR, LILIAN P. FRANCISCO. A System study at Weltech Enterprise. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. January 2022. Adviser: Ms. Dina P. Bawag. The study was conducted to improve the current system at Weltech Enterprise in Silang, Cavite, using different industrial engineering tools and techniques. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) determine the current system in the company's production; (2) identify the problems encountered in the current system of their production; (3) analyze the root causes of the identified problems; (4) provided possible solutions and recommendations to be implemented for the improvement of their current system; and (5) assess and evaluate the stability of the improvements in Weltech Enterprise after implementing solutions and recommendations. As a result, researchers have successfully implemented the suggested solutions for the improvement of the company. In Pareto analysis, researchers identified issues such as poor facility layout, machine breakdown, poor inventory management, and poor priority rules. Using the 80-20 rule, poor facility layout and machine breakdown had an 80 percent impact on the firm. The fundamental cause of the problem was also identified using a fishbone diagram. To understand the production process, flow process chart and operational process chart were applied. Activity relationship diagram was used to establish an organized plant layout. A flow diagram was also used to showcase the flow of the process in the production area. Plant layout was also used for the continuous and little amount of work in progress. Also, overall effectiveness equipment was used to identify the availability, performance and quality of each machine. With this, several improvements were formulated which help to increase the performance and productivity of Weltech Enterprise. The time for the inspection was reduced for about 30 minutes since inspection was reduced by 6. In line with this, flow process reduced by almost 77 minutes since the layout was transformed into a U-shape assembly line for a smooth process. The overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of lathe, milling and grinding machine was improved by 3.23 percent, 2.16 percent, and 26.18 percent, respectively. As a result, the productivity increase by 1.18 and the production produced 106 pieces of manual stamping machine which clearly meets the demand of the client. Also, when it comes to financial impact, it increased by P502,200.OO. Lastly, researchers successfully implemented new operational process, flow process, flow diagram, plant layout, and machine usage monitoring sheet. Based on the information given by the head operator in Weltech Enterprise the customers' demand was not in a rush since the suggested solutions was used.
