Abstract: OJASTRO, TRISTAN Z., and SORAIDA D. VILLA. Centralized Qualifying Examination System for College of Engineering and Information Technology. B.S. Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2008. Adviser: Mr. Simeon E. Daez The study aimed to develop a Centralized Qualifying Examination System for College of Engineering and Information Technology to help the students and instructors to get over the existing problems because of using the paper and pencil process of examination. Eradicating the problems of examination would be possible by developing a system that have modules such as random questions, automated checking, self- timer and print report. The proponents were conducted surveys, interviews, surfing the net and research to universities and colleges to gather information that can used for software development. Questionnaires were also distributed to the respondents to know the quality of the software. The proponents used My Structured Query Language (MySQL) for designing a database, Apache for server and Hypertext Preprocessor (PI-IP) was used as programming language for software development because it is suitable for online application. It is a widely used open-source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web Development. The Prototyping Oriented methodology was used by the proponents for software development. The process of this methodology is iterative so that the development of the system would be more clearly defined. Also, the prototype system is usually modified several times until it is acceptable.
