This study was conducted to assess the disaster risk reduction preparedness of public high schools in District 5 of Cavite. Specifically, this study was designed to describe the profile of the school, profile of the school personnel and students, identify the level of disaster risk reduction preparedness of school personnel and students in terms of safe learning facilities, school disaster management and risk reduction and resilience education and determine the significant difference between the assessment of the school personnel and students towards the level of preparedness of public high schools. The study was descriptive-comparative research with 165 school personnel and 165 students as participants from public high schools in the municipalities of Carmona, General Mariano Alvarez, and Silang in Cavite. The level of disaster risk reduction preparedness was determined based on 3 parameters. Among these three parameters, both school personnel and students were "highly prepared", School personnel and students' level of preparedness did not have a significant difference in terms of safe learning facilities. However, school personnel and students' level of preparedness had a significant difference in terms of school disaster management and risk reduction/resilience education. In general, the study revealed that school personnel and students of public high schools in district five of Cavite had "highly prepared" level of preparedness in disaster risk reduction and their level of preparedness had a significant difference. Based on the results of the study, it was revealed that school personnel and students considered that they were highly prepared in terms of safe learning facilities, school disaster management and risk reduction and resilience education. It was also revealed that the level of preparedness of school personnel and students had a significant difference towards the level of preparedness of public high school in disaster risk reduction. It was recommended that schools may conduct disaster risk reduction preparedness related trainings and seminars for all teachers and students at least once a year to improve their knowledge and skills in disaster-related matter and conduct more lectures, seminars or orientation about water and sanitation, emergency disaster management, security measures and, conduct of disaster risk reduction management related activities such as Anti-Dengue campaign, Student-LED school watching and hazard mapping for it is the least scored among the indicators.
