Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Prof. Rustom Gerard T. Mendiola On October 7, 2019 the Municipal of Tanza enacted an ordinance which is Municipal ordinance No.117-S-2019. This ordinance aims to remove and clear all the roads of an obstruction within the jurisdiction of Tanza, Cavite. These obstructions include vehicular parked in prohibited places, vehicular terminals, venting sites, house encroachments, debris, uncovered manholes and electrical posts that are left in the middle of the road. This study conducted to find out the effects and implications of road obstructions on the road safety of the inhabitants of the Municipal of Tanza. The study utilized a qualitative research design with a narrative analysis approach. The results were obtained through validated instruments that were conducted through an interview and were supported by data coming from the municipality of Tanza. The results were based on the interview were analyzed by the researchers and based on the results that the removal of road obstruction was necessary. Immediate removal of road obstructions shows that it has a positive effect to ton people of Tanza like having a better traffic flow and decrease in road accidents while if the removal of the road obstructions took too long, then it will be a major cause of another problem like flooding and people taking advantage of the free space for their own benefits. The study also shows that without a good monitoring system that will look at regulating these ordinances and without the cooperation of the stakeholders in the vicinity, then road mishaps and road problems will happen. It was recommended for the LGU to improve the monitoring and the regulation of their municipal ordinances regarding the road obstructions and the like and also for the residents and motorists passing in Tanza to exercise caution while driving to avoid road accidents.
