Abstract: BUEN. SHERYL D., BUSTAMANTE, LYKA B., NOTARTE MIA M. Understanding Awareness of Early Adults about Chronic Kidney Disease and Its Associated Risk Factors in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Biology Major in Medical Biology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. August 2022. Adviser. Ms. Arvie Grace B. Masibag. Filipinos have been suffering from kidney failure for a while now. It has been a notable public health problem in the country for the past few years. However, there is a scarcity of data on public awareness of chronic kidney disease in the Philippines. In addition, there is limited research available, especially in Cavite, focusing on the knowledge of the young adults who may be subjected to CKD at an early age due to their lifestyle and family history. This study aims to determine the knowledge of early adulthood about chronic kidney disease and its risk factors. The researchers surveyed early adults in Dasmariñas City to determine their knowledge of CKD using descriptive analysis, which showed that among 302 early adulthood participants, 55.30% had an intermediately sufficient knowledge of it, while 33.77% were sufficiently aware of it. In contrast, the remaining 33 (10.93%) have an insufficient level of awareness about it. Some have enough knowledge due to their chosen course in school, while there is the least number of insufficient expertise because of their educational attainment. Furthermore, future researchers may include nephrology centers and hospitals to get participants who have CKD to strengthen their study. Keywords: Chronic Kidney Disease, Early Adults, Awareness .
