Abstract: BARRIENTOS, FIDES KAYE ANNE E., EGOS, JOHN PAUL, AND TULOD, KAYCEE An Investigation of the Implementation of Provincial Ordinance (P.O) 2002-004 or also known as Prohibiting the Smoking and Selling of Cigarettes in Selected Schools in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Jaymart Allen Baltazar. On November 14, 2002, the Provincial Ordinance 2002-004 was enacted in the Province of Cavite. The objectives of the study were to determine the: (1) effects of the implementation of the subjective Provincial ordinance on the community of Dasmarinas; (2) the benefits of enforcing the ordinance strictly; (3) the mechanism done to ensure that the affected parties such as schools, students and barangay officials are knowledgeable and ways to disseminate the information to the community individuals; and (4) the sanctions given to the people violating the Provincial Ordinance. This study examined the implementation of Provincial Ordinance 2002-004, which prohibits smoking and selling cigarettes in schools in Dasmarinas, Cavite. The research was carried out at Dasmarinas City, Cavite, from September 2021 to March 2022 in each of the schools that were inspected. The study utilized a qualitative research design with a narrative analysis approach. The results were obtained through validated instruments that were conducted through an interview and were supported by data coming from the selected barangays in Dasmarinas. Participants perceived the following implementation impacts to be positive for the community and for the learning institutions, especially younger students. Participants recognize the ordinance's benefit to students. It's vital to promote good health, and young kids to avoid harmful mental habits. Schools develop programs with the help of the barangay to inform parents and kids about the ordinance and its advantages to the students and community. Barangay Officials guarantee student safety in and out of school. Participants feel the law is like their rights in any situation. Participants' punishments rely on Provincial Ordinance 2002-004. They feel the ordinance subjects will be more disciplined if its application is highlighted. Through their policies and programs, they performed their responsibility as public officials. This study indicated that despite regulations restricting the sale of cigarettes to children under 18, most research participants believed youngsters can still readily access cigarettes, therefore they granted the incumbent the discretion to resolve it. Cigarette smoking is a global health crisis. The surge in cigarette health problems has garnered global attention, and efforts have been made to prevent consumption
