Thesis Adviser: Russel Philip Nuestro Solid waste management, or lack thereof, must be one of the main areas of concern in every community. Improper waste management and disposal has been found to be a major cause of serious environmental problems and imposes a threat to human health. In this study, the researchers aimed to measure the level of awareness of the residents in Barangay Sampaloc IV, City of Dasmariñas, Cavite on Solid Waste Management, also known as Barangay Ordinance No. 3-S-2019. They also determined the practices of the residents when it comes to managing and disposing of their household-generated solid waste, as well as their understanding of the importance of properly doing so and the consequences of otherwise. The researchers used qualitative and quantitative descriptive research designs and constructed a survey questionnaire, which was utilized to meet the objectives presented in this paper and was answered by 380 randomly chosen respondents. The results of this study have shown that most of the respondents are "aware" of the existence of Barangay Ordinance No. 3-S-2019, also known as Solid Waste Management. Moreover, the results have shown that among all of the solid waste management methods, waste segregation is the one that the residents do not commonly practice. Lastly, aside from raising the awareness of the residents about the ordinance, it was also necessary to educate and inform the people about the importance of implementing and adhering to the provisions of the ordinance.
