Abstract: ROMERA, VERGEL CONSTANTE and TIBAYAN, JEANNE ROSE VIDALLON. '201 File Information System: A Computerized Filing System of Personnel Records", A Special Problem, B.S. Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2001. Adviser Joy M. Arayata. The study was conducted in the Human Resource Management Office of the Cavite State University. The study aims to develop a computerized filing system of personnel records. Specifically the study aimed to develop a system that will provide a faster, easier and eminent processing of the records; to provide printed record entry forms such as assumption, oath of office, and statement of assets and liabilities; and to automate the preparation of reports such as list of faculty with doctoral, masteral and temporary degree, faculty and support staff by employment status, certification of leave credits, notice of salary adjustment, service records and certificate of employment requested by the employee. Different methods were used in developing the system, which included gathering of preliminary data, that served as the basis to obtain the set objectives of the study. Data Flow Diagram is the step-by-step graphical explanation of the flow of the system. Paper Prototyping as the paradigm provided as with the guidelines or patterns in building the software product. System testing, which includes function, performance, acceptance and installation, was used to test the capability of the system. In estimating the cost of the product and the benefits that the HRMO can get from the system, the Cost-Benefit Analysis was used.
