Abstract: This research was conducted at the selected orphanages in Cavite, with a total of twenty-nine (29) houseparents’ as respondents. Descriptive method was used in this study. The research used a checklist-questionnaire method in order to reveal the relationship of the variables. Primarily it was conducted to determine the relationship of training and challenges to the work performance of the house parents. Specifically, the researchers sought to find the respondents: (1) demographics; (2) the challenges that the house parents have experienced; (3) the trainings that the house parents have attended; (4) the extent to which these trainings have affected their work performance in terms of (a) work attitude, (b) work comprehensiveness, (c) achievement of work goals, and (d) work satisfaction; (5) the number of trainings attended that affected their work performance; and (6) the number of challenges faced that affected the work performance of house parents. ABSTRACT After administering the questionnaire, the researcher used weighted mean, mode, comprehensive frequencies distribution, and central Tendencies to determine the training, challenges, impact of trainings and challenges in work performance in terms of work attitude, work comprehensiveness; achievement of work goals, and work satisfaction that the house parents of Cavite experienced. The Pearson Correlation coefficient and P-value was used to measure significant relationship between the trainings attended and the work performance of house parents and significant relationship between the challenges faced and the work performance of house parents. P-value was used to test the significance of variables. After analyzing the data, the researcher concluded that there is no significant relationship between the training and work performance of the house parents. Therefore, the null hypotheses were accepted. The result of the data supports this claim.
