The study aimed to determine the effect of the level of interest on mass media to academic performance of selected Mass Communication students in Cavite State University- Main. Specifically, the study sought to determine the respondents’ level of interest in mass media, their academic performance based on their General Point Average (GPA) during the first semester of A. Y. 2009-2010, and if there is a significant effect in respondents’ level of interest on their academic performance. Survey questionnaire was administered to 53 respondents of the study to determine the effect of the respondents’ level of interest on mass media to their academic performance. The data gathered from December 2009 to March 2010 were used with statistical method in order to tabulate, analyze, and evaluate. The findings of the study revealed that the selected Mass Communication students having good academic performance have an Interested level of interest in mass media. Further, it was found out that the respondents’ level of interest on mass media has no significant effect on their academic performance. As a result, the respondents’ level of interest on mass media, no matter how high it is, still, has no effect on their academic performance.
