Abstract: NAVARRO, SHIELA MARIE R. Relationship Between Organizational Commitment and Job Burnout of Private Secondary School Teachers in Selected Municipalities of Cavite: Basis for Stress Management Program. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Human Resource Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2012. Adviser: Florindo C. Ilagan. The study was conducted to determine the relationship between organizational commitment and job burnout of private secondary teachers in Cavite. The organizational commitment scale by Allen and Meyer (2004) and job burnout by Maslach (1996) were used. One hundred forty three private secondary school teachers in selected municipalities of Cavite were the subject of the study. Frequency count, percentages, standard deviation and mean were used to evaluate the demographic profiles of the respondents. Kruskall Wallis and Mann-Whitney Tests were used to determine significant differences while chi-square test was employed to determine the significant relationship between the variables used in the study. Findings of the study showed that the private secondary school teachers have an average level of organizational commitment and a low level of burnout. Significant relationship was found between continuance commitment and burnout level. No significant difference was detected in both the levels of organizational commitment and burnout when respondents were grouped according to their demographic profile.
