Abstract: POTANTE, KAREN JOY NOLASCO, Family Characteristics, Social Influence and Level of Aggression of Highschool Students from Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2013. Adviser: Ms. Evalyne A. Rodriguez. The study was conducted at Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School, Pinagtipunan, General Trias, Cavite, on December 2012. Specifically, this study attempts to determine the family characteristics of high school students in terms of total family income, number of family members, and family structure. It also identifies the level of social influence in terms of family, peer and media and the level of aggression among high school students from GFMNHS. Further, the study was conducted to find the relationship between family characteristics and level of aggression of the participants and level of social influence and aggression of high school students. The researcher utilized adopted and modified instrument which divided into family characteristic, social influence scale and aggression questionnaire which was validated and have an internal consistency of Cronbach’s alpha. Based on the findings, it found out that most of the participants have a monthly family income of Php. 1000-9,999 which was used by the family to support their needs. Majority of them have a family member of five (5), and many of them established nuclear type of family structure. The result also revealed that social influence in terms of family have low level, and in terms of peer and media the result fell at very low level of influence. The level of aggression of the participants was at the low level also. The findings indicated that there is a no relationship between family characteristics in terms of family income, number of family member/s and level of aggression and family structure and the level of aggression. Further, when it comes to social influence, family and peer have a no relationship with the level of aggression of the participants, however when it comes to media it indicates that it have a significant relationship with the level of aggression of high school students from Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School.
