Abstract: Outreach services, campaigns and outbreak responses are all examples of community-based preventative efforts, while these activities can save lives, they also raise the danger of COVID-19 transmission throughout communities and between health personnel and populations. This paper was set to explore and address the struggles and coping mechanisms faced by selected Barangay Health Workers and Barangay health care in General Trias City during Pandemic. Specifically, at the end of this research the researchers are enabled to help reduce the future challenges and its impacts to Barangay health workers by facing a continues effects and rapid changes bring by the Pandemic. In this context, struggles is defined as using a lot of effort to defeat someone, prevent something, or achieve something or difficulties being faced by Barangay Health workers. While coping mechanisms are defined as strategies people often use in the face of stress and/or trauma to help manage painful or difficult emotions. It determines how the respondent’s capability to face the struggles and how helpful it is when during pandemic. To test the hypothesis that there is no significant relationship between the struggles and coping mechanisms of the selected barangay health workers, an online and face to face survey was distributed to potential and available barangay health workers in the city of General Trias Cavite. The target population of this study are at least 50% of the 303 Barangay Health Workers in General Trias City Cavite. Each of the respondents received same questions to answer regardless of their age, gender, and years of service. Responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bivariate statistics, correlation analysis, for independence and t-test for independent samples. The results showed that among the 4 struggles experienced of the respondents, the last statement got the lowest mean which they least agreed that they get benefits at their jobs. While in the coping mechanisms, the employed coping mechanism that got the highest mean is the problem-focused coping where most of the respondents agreed that they had been taking action to try and make the situation better. The results showed a positive relationship opposite than hypothesized: meaning that as the struggles go up their coping mechanisms also goes up. Furthermore, since the P value is less than the level of significance, there is enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the relationship is highly significant. This means that the struggles faced by the barangay health workers greatly affects their coping mechanisms. From this, as part of their work as liaison of primary health care in the community its sensible to give back the sufficient compensation they all deserved for them to anticipate their personal vulnerability as health care workers.
