Viewing Ghost Fighter and Selected Children's Awareness on Violence," Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication major in Journalism, Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2002. Adviser: Mrs. Rumina Astusillo-Gil. The study was conducted at Maitim U Elementary School, Tagaytay City on February 2002. Generally, it aimed to examine the relationship between Viewing Ghost Fighter and Selected Children's Awareness on Violence. Specifically, it examined the viewership awareness level and it determined the violence awareness level of the respondents. Simple random sampling was used to choose the respondents who were the first 45 pupils listed in the class record of each class level. Sampling size was determined using Slovin's formula. The survey method was used. Further, questionnaires containing frequency of viewing violent scenes, viewership awareness level and violence awareness level was employed to obtain data. To be more comprehensive, the questions were asked in Filipino. Findings generated by the study were as follows: A little less than half, 46.7% of the respondents had high viewership of violent scenes; more than half, 54.1% of the respondents viewed violent actions every day; more than half, 56.3% of the respondents had high violence awareness level; that there was a significant relationship between Frequency of Viewing Violent Actions and Violence Awareness Level; and that there was a significant relationship between Viewing Ghost Fighter and Selected Children's Awareness on Violence
