Abstract: ANDAYA, KIM LLOYD S. and DE MESA, JOHN KEVIN T., DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A MOTORIZED CLOTHING RACK. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Major in Electrical Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2021. Adviser: Mr. Clifford Ferrer. The research was conducted to develop a Motorized Clothing Rack. Clothing Rack is mostly used in laundry and in storing clothes at home. This study was to develop and improve its functionality of automatic motorized clothing rack that could help the household in dealing with abnormal weather patterns. The study was conducted to lessen human effort and time consumption in monitoring their clothes outside. The main problem with drying your clothes outside is the weather. You can't tell whether it will rain or not. People often forget to take their clothes or their having trouble to take their clothes during rainy days. The research was formed through gathering data from different people, identifying the system was put through its paces in terms of functionality, use, durability, and safety, that can be solved through enhancing it, finding sophisticated components that can be used, searching for a less expensive but worth buying component, developing a one-time investment project that last longer than the usual system, and creating a system that will improve the consumers lives. The research showed that the developed system was a truly effective, efficient and more accessible system. The design was proven to be useful for retrieving clothes during rainy days. The project prototype has analog input, namely raindrop sensor it is used sensing rain. The sensor will detect any rainfall falling on it and the Arduino board will sense it and can perform required action. Once the sensor detects rain droplets that will give signal to the microcontroller "Arduino Uno", the main system, for analog output it is the stepper motor this is DC motor rotate and can reverse the rotation depends on the set code of system. The stepper motor is connected to pulley sets to retrieve the laundry automatically. The research showed how efficient and more accessible the design and development of a motorized clothing rack. However, the system is also open for future improvement because the life of this kind of technology can be improved and enhanced from time to time.
