PULIDO, ARNOLD MATILLA. Reduced Booster Allowance and Broiler Performance. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Agriculture major in Animal Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2004. Adviser: Dr. Andrew T. Bunan
A study was conducted to determine the performance of broiler chickens subjected to reduced booster feed allowance (0%, 25%. and 50% reduction). Seventy-two (72) straight-run day-old broiler chicks were randomly distributed to three treatments with four replications in a randomized complete block experiment. Birds subjected to reduced booster feed allowance performed as well as those subjected to regular feeding regimen. While results showed non-significant (P>0.05) differences, birds subjected to 50% reduction in booster feed allowance attained a relatively heavier 5-week body weight, better feed conversion efficiency and higher dressing percentage. As a consequence, IOFCC of these birds was PhP 2.19 higher than the control.
