RELATIONSHIP OF INVOLVEMENT IN CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND LEVEL OF SOCIALIZATION OF THIRD YEAR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT DSAC SY 1992-1993. Adviser: Miss Cristeta M. Montano. This research study attempted to determine the relationship of involvement in co-curricular activities and level of socialization of third year high school students at DSAC, School Year 1992-93. The total population of 169 third year high school students at DSAC was used in this study. It was found out in this study that most of the third year students had low involvement in co-curricular activities during the first semester. .The respondents had not been 50% involved in co-curricular activities during the first semester. They differ in the levels of involvement according to mental ability and family income. Those who had higher mental ability had more involvement in co-curricular activities and those who had higher family income had more involvement also in co-curricular activities. Sex as 4 demographic factors, however, is not related to involvement in co-curricular activities; that means the male and female students had the same involvement in co-curricular activities. The third year high school students had a moderately high level of socialization. The male and female students have the same level of socialization. Those who had higher mental ability had higher level of socialization and also those who had higher family income had higher level of socialization. The level of involvement in co-curricular activities of the respondents has nothing to do with their level of socialization. This means that their level of socialization remains the same even if they were involved in cocurricular activities. Based on the findings of this study, the following had been strongly recommended: 1) School administrators should give more opportunities to every student to get involved in co-curricular activities, 2) students should maintain their high level of socialization as they get more involved in co-curricular activities. They should actively get involved in co-curricular activities, 3) further studies in the level of socialization using academic performance as the independent variable and inclusion of mental ability and family income as the demographic factors are recommended. Involvement of students in other year levels is recommended for further studies.
