Abstract: ROMERO, VANESSA F., Training Needs Assessment Of Senior Citizens Of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Development Management major in Training Program Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2006. Adviser: Atty. Adonis N. Menez. This study was conducted to assess the training need assessment of senior citizens of Cavite. Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: (1) identify the socio-economic-demographic characteristics of the senior citizens of Cavite; (2) identify the activities of senior citizens of Cavite; (3) identify the benefits being enjoy by the senior citizens of Cavite; (4) identify the training needs of senior citizens of Cavite; (5) determine the problems encountered by the senior citizens; and (6) prepare a training program appropriate for the senior citizens of Cavite Majority of the age of the range respondent's from 60 to 80 years with an average of twenty three percent of the respondents' have reached high school level. More than half of them were female and married. Two-thirds of the respondents' annual income range from Php 51,000 to 100,000, from their pensions. The recreational activities performed by the senior citizens are watching TV, walking, dancing, reading, singing, jogging, mailing and writing. The activities of the organizations of the senior citizen on the other hand were the regular meetings and medical mission including conduct of calisthenics. The benefits being enjoyed by the senior citizens ware free medical and dental services, and exemption from payment of individual income taxes. The problems being encountered by the senior citizens were health related problems such as high blood pressures, lung problems and the old age. Proposed training needs of senior citizens of Cavite include (1) seminars to improve livelihood activities of senior citizens; (2) recreational activities and leisure management seminars for senior citizens and (3) medical and safety awareness information seminar for senior citizens.
