A study on the "Response of Vanilla (Vanilla plarifolia, Andr.) Cuttings to Different Levels of Indole Butyric Acid" was conducted to determine the effects of IBA on rooting vanilla cuttings.
Vanilla cuttings were prepared and dipped at varying concentrations of IBA such as 50 ppm., 100 ppm., 150 ppm., and 200 ppm. prepared in powder form.
The stem cuttings in Tz (150 ppm. IBA) began to develop roots six (6) days after planting. Likewise, plants treated with 150 ppm. (Tz) IBA gave the longest roots with a mean length of 12.06 centimeters,
Generally, cuttings treated with rooting hormone resulted in early root formation with better shoot growth.
They also gave the highest number of roots.
Based on the results of this study, Tz (150 ppm. IBA) was found to be the most effective concentration in propagating vanilla cuttings. Almost all treated cuttings showed better performance than the control.
