This study which was conducted from August to October 1977 at Mahabang Kahoy, Indang, Cavite aimed to find out the different management practices employed by the poultry raisers of the said place. Only two commercial poultry raisers were interviewed. A set of questions were prepared to gather data from the respondents. The poultry farms surveyed had provided portable brooder and growing-laying houses for the layers. Strict hygiene and sanitation was followed in the project. Adequate flooring, feeds and ventilation were provided by the poultry raisers to raise a high percen-tage of vigorous birds throughout the cycle of production. Chicks starter mash (20% Crude Protein) was fed to the clicks during the brooding stage to hasten their growth. Vitamins were supplemented to the feeds. Feeds were spread on the newspaper to stimulate chicks' feeding activity. Light is strictly regulated to provide adequate heat among chicks . This was found out by the poultry raisers as one of the contributing factors in maintain° ins the healthy condition of the chicks. Layers were fed with B=Meg layer mash. Entrance of every building was provided with foot pool disinfectant to prevent possible entrance of disease causing organisms. Disease observed were influenza and scouring. Early immunization was given to the animal to prevent outbreak of disease. Complete record about the performance of the stock as well as the different operations in the piggery farm was kept.
