The study entitled “ Production Performance of Mushroom Bedding with Soil” was conducted at Poblacion, Indang, Cavite from March to April 1979 to determine which bedding materials with or without soil is more recommended for mushroom culture.
Eight mushroom box frames constituting 2 treatments and 4 replications were used in the study. These two treatments were: T1-bedding materials with soil and T2-bedding materials without soil. Dried banana leaves as bedding materials were used in both treatments.
Result of the study showed that treatment 2, that is bedding materials without soil, produced the heaviest and the greatest number of mushroom.
With this finding, the author strongly recommends the use of beddings without soil as germinating medium for mushroom culture.
