‘The study,"Response of Rambutan Seeds to Different Seed Treatments" was conducted at Ma.Kahoy Cerca, Indang,Cavite from October to December 1979, The study aimed to determine the germination response of rambutan seeds to different seed treatments and to know which of the treatments used is the best for the growth of rambutan seedlings.
The newly pulped rambutan seeds were divided into four groups. The three group were treated by dipping them separately for 24 hours in warm water, 10% hydro-chloric acid, and salt solution, Another group was left untreated to serve as control,
Results showed that dipping seeds in hot water hastened germination by two days and significantly produced the highest percentage germination (85%). Hydrochloric acid delayed and reduced the germination of seeds, hence producing the lowest percentage germination (255).
The tallest plants were produced from seeds soaked in warm water. The shortest were produced from seed soaked in hydrochloric acid.
