The study, "Intercropping Peanut and Soybean", was conducted in Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite from November 16, 1979 to February 17, 1980 to determine the performance of peanut as intercrop to soybean with regards to the growth and yield of both crops. The area of one thousand two hundred square meters, constituting three treatments and four replications was used in the study. These treatments were randomly arranged at the entire field as T1 - peanut and soybean intercropped, T2 - peanut without intercrop, and T3 - soybean without intercrop.
Crops matured were harvested at the same time 95 days
after planting. Samples were randomly gathered to avoid bias results. T-test was used in the analysis of data. The study showed significant result. Peanut alone yielded more as compared to plants with intercrop. With these findings, the author does not recommend the combination or intercropping of peanut and soybean for it did not give high production compared to peanut alone.
