The study, “Response of Bush Sitao to Different Animal Manures", was conducted in Buna Lejos, Indang, Cavite from June to August, 1980 to determine the response of bush sitao to chicken dung, cow manure, horse manure and hog manure as organic fertilizer. A 112 square meter lot was used for the purpose.
Dried animal manures mentioned were incorporated into the soil a week before planting. Los Bafios Bush Sitao No. 1 was used.
Results showed that chicken manure had a pronounced effect on the growth and yield of bush sitao as exhibited by the highest computed yield of 46,830.24 kilograms per hectare.
Based from the results of the experiment, the use of animal manures as fertilizer for bush sitao is recommended,
Due to high cost of inorganic fertilizer today, the use of animal manures as organic fertilizer for the crop is more economical.
