The study "Effect of Indole Butyric Acid on Rooting of Malunggay Stem Cuttings", was conducted from November 1980 to January 1981 in Alulod, Indang, Cavite. It aimed to determine which of the different concentrations gave the best result on rooting of malunggay cuttings.
Hardwood stem cuttings were selected from mature and healthy mother plant. The stems were cut to a length of 25 centimeters long and dipped in different concentrations of IBA except Tr (Control).
Beneficial effects on cuttings were observed 65 days after planting. There were significant differences among the different treatments.
Of the different concentrations of IBA used, 200 ppm IBA (T,) was observed to be the best in inducing roots for malunggay cuttings. The highest number of roots, longest roots as well as the shoots and the shortest number of days from rooting to development of shoots were observed in Treatment 4.
