Abstract: ROLLON, IRMA PEJI. Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 1991. "Effects of Moisture Stress at. Different Growth Stages on the Performance of Soybeans". Adviser: Engr. David L. Cero. 1991) During the duration of the study (November to February, moisture stress treatments were imposed at the different growth stages of soybeans in an experimental conducted on experiment, the newly acquired rand of the Don Severino Agricultural College, lndang, Cavite. Soil moisture meter was used in determining the moisture content: of the plot subjected to stress. Irrigation was done when the moisture allowed deficit reached 50% except for the crops subjected to different levels of moisture stress. Moisture stress treatments were imposed by adding water only after the plants were stressed for a given period of time corresponding to number of days of stress. From the result of the study, seed yield of soybean was less sensitive to growth stages at which moisture stress occurred but more sensitive to the intensity and duration of stress. Moreover, the crop can to a moisture stress of one to two days. However, the moisture stress of four days were enough to reduce the yield of three to soybeans. Number of pods and height of plants were affected by the different period of stress.
