Abstract: DIMARANAN, MARINETTE P. Perceived Work Ethics and Job Performance of Employees of Trece Martires City Hall by Selected Residents. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2007. Thesis Adviser Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen. This research investigated the perception of the residents on the work ethics and job performance of selected employees of Trece Martires City hall. Specifically, it aimed to assess the respondents' demographic profile such as age, gender, occupation, and frequency of visitation in the City hall; to assess the job performance level of employees as perceived by the residents; to assess the work ethics of employees as perceived by the residents; and to assess the significant relationship between work ethics and job performance. This investigation was conducted from November 2006 — January 2007 on the selected residents of the three (3) different barangays' of Trece Martires City, namely: Lapidario, san Agustin, and Luciano. The respondents are those who are frequently visiting the City Hall for any transaction. Descriptive normative — survey method of research was used in this study. One hundred forty- four (144) residents are the respondents of the study. a non-random technique of purposive sampling was used. Out of 144 respondents, 41.7% are 29 yrs. old and below, 39.6 % are 30-39 yrs. old and the remaining 18.8 % are from 40 yrs. old and above. 54.2 % of this are female. 60% of the respondents are government employees. Most visited department was the treasurer's office which covers 60 %. Most of the respondents visit the City Hall thrice a month. Majority of the respondent residents are very satisfied of the excellent performance of the employees as well as the good work ethics shown by the employees to their client. The result of this study revealed that there is a significant relationship between work ethics and job performance of employees of Trece Martires City Hall as perceived by the resident respondents.
