Abstract: AGUIRRE, CHRISTINE "Comparative Analysis on the Behavior of Selected High School Students with OFW Parents and Locally Employed Parents at Indang, Cavite" Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2007. The study aimed to determine the comparative analysis on the behavior of selected high school students with Overseas Filipino Worker parents and locally employed parents at Indang, Cavite. Specifically it aimed to (1.) know the demographical profile of the students in of (1.1) Age, (1.2) Gender, (1.3) Year Level. (2.) determine the common behavior students with Overseas Filipino Worker parents, (3.) determine the common behavior students with locally employed parents and ( 4.) determine if there is a significant difference on the behavior of students whose parents are Overseas Filipino Worker and is who are locally employed. Descriptive method was used in this study. Direct observation, interview and personal documents on the file of the school were also used to supplement the gathered The respondents of the study yielded a total of 306 students with 153 for each category from Perpetual Cavite Institute and Saint Gregory Academy with Overseas Filipino Workers parents and locally employed parents either the mother or father. Majority age of the respondents was 14 years old. Females were dominated by respondents. Most of the respondents with locally employed parents were in third level while with Overseas Filipino Workers parents were in second year level. The results of the Behavior questionnaire with the behavior towards family of the parents with locally employed parents got an average mean of 2.35 and were rated slightly neglected while in the respondents with Overseas Filipino Workers parents got a highest mean of 2.41 and were rated as slightly neglected. The results on the behavior towards school of the respondents with locally employed got an average mean of 2.22 was rated as slightly rebellious while on the behavior of respondents with Overseas Filipino Workers got a highest mean of 2.41 and was rated as slightly rebellious again e the rating of the locally employed. Also, the results of the used questionnaire to the behavior towards peers/ friends of the respondents with locally employed parents got an average mean of 1.93 and was rated as slightly loner while on the other hand in the side of the behavior of the respondents with Overseas Filipino Workers parents got an average mean of 2.45 and rated as slightly loner. The result of the Mann-Whitney test showed that in the behavior towards peers/ friends who had a mean rank of 171.79 in the respondents with Overseas Filipino Workers while in the respondents of locally employed parents got a mean rank of 1.35. Also both locally employed and Overseas Filipino Workers parents got a .000 significance level and got results in the Mann-Whitney test of 8905.500. This mean that there is a significant difference between the students whose parents are Overseas Filipino Workers and who are locally employed in the behavior towards peers or friends while in the behavior towards family and school there is no significance difference.
