Abstract: CUNANAN, KRISTEL P. Stress Management Styles and Job Satisfaction level of Contractual Faculty Members of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2007. Adviser: Ms. Joy G. Novero. This study attempted to determine the stress management styles and job satisfaction level of contractual faculty members of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Specifically, this study sought to 1) determine the demographic profile of the contractual faculty respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, length of service and educational attainment; 2) determine the stress management styles of the respondents; 3).assess the extent of satisfaction of the respondents in terms of professional polices, salary and fringe benefits, working conditions, interpersonal relations and recognition of Achievements; 4) determine the significant relationship between demographic profile and stress management styles of the respondents; 5) determine the demographic profile job satisfaction level of the respondents; 6) determine the relationship between of stress management styles and job satisfaction level of the contractual faculty respondents. The study made use of a descriptive survey method. Descriptive Statistics such as percentages, weighted mean and chi- square were used as statistical tool in treating and interpreting the data gathered. Purposive sampling design was used to determine the target respondents. The instruments used in data gathering were Baluyot's (2006) Stress Management Styles Questionnaire as cited from Pareja (1995) Based on the findings, majority of the respondents were aged 22- 26, females, married, attempt to continue their graduate study and had length of service of 2 to 7 years. The stress management styles of the respondents were found to be moderate which means that they manage their stress well. The job satisfaction was rated moderately satisfying in relation to the five factors indicated in the study. Further results revealed that the null hypothesis of not having significant relationship between stress management styles and job satisfaction level was rejected.
