The entrepreneurial development project was conducted in Kayquit III, Indang,
Cavite and in Cavite State University Animal Production Project primarily to provide the
student the chance to apply the gained knowledge in business management to the
actual operation of the business. The project was conducted from July 26 to October 27,
2006. It was operated with an initial capital of PhP30, 000.00, which was equally shared
by the entrepreneurs. The study was primarily concerned with the growing of broilers to
realize profit. The different practices undertaken include preparation of the poultry
house, purchase of chicks, acquisition of feeds, brooding and growing, medication,
feeding, harvesting, and marketing the product.
During the three months period of the operation 600 chicks were raised for two
cropping periods. The project sold live and dressed chicken. Live chicken were sold at
PhP60-PhP95 per kilo while dressed chicken were sold at PhP8O-PhP90 per kilo. Their
market includes walk-in-buyers, retailers and restaurants.
