Abstract: RAMOS, JENNELYN JOYOSA. "Discriminant Analysis of the Performance in Board Examination of CvSU Nursing Students". BS Applied Mathematics. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April, 2007. Adviser: Mr. Antonio V. Cinto. This study was conducted to determine the level of significance of the performance in nursing board examination and their grades in the academic subjects and to determine the significant relationship between the performance in board examination and their grades in the academic subjects. A total of 46 students who took board examination last 2006 of whom 78.26% passed and 21.74% failed the board examination were considered in this study. Box's M value of 0.375 is not significant at 5% level of significance. The hypothesis that the covariance matrices were homogenous was accepted. Point biserial correlation coefficient was the statistical tool used to measure their degree of relationship, which shows that the discriminating variables are not significant and homogenous. Results show that the discriminating variables were not a predictor of the performance in board examination.
