Special Problem, Bachelor of Science of Nursing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2007. Advisers: Mrs. Vina Velasco R.N. and Dr. Josefina R. Rint. This study was conducted to determine the number of malnourished children in Brgy. Bagong Kalsada Naic, Cavite and enumerate the factors that contributed to malnourishment of the children in Brgy. Bagong Kalsada, Naic, Cavite. The research design used in this study was descriptive method. The study sought to describe and reveal the condition of the children in the community. A survey was conducted to gather information among 2-7 years old children in Brgy. Bagong Kalsada, Naic, Cavite. The management of the children should always be discussed in the context of their particular clinical situation. Patient and parents should be fully involved in discussion regarding their treatment and should have access to expert advice and counseling to help in making their choices and to prevent malnutrition. Based from the summary of findings, the researchers have drawn the following conclusions: the study revealed that those children in Brgy. Bagong Kalsada, Naic Cavite are affected with malnourishment. Those who are malnourished have the frequency of 14 (35%). The factors which contribute to their malnourishment were nutritional and environmental including poverty. These factors trigger the prevalence rate of malnutrition in Brgy. Bagong Kalsada, Naic, Cavite.
