Abstract: ARCEGA, M1RASOL M. ALMAKAR Builders and Metal Works. Bacoor, Cavite. Undergraduate Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2007. Adviser Mrs. Myrachael S. Nolasco. A field study was conducted in Almakar Builders and Metal Works at 333 Panapaan III, Sulok Street, Bacoor Cavite. The study was conducted to enable the trainee to apply the gained knowledge in the actual training experience in the firm. Specifically, it aimed to describe the operations of the company; describe the marketing activities of the company and identify the problems encountered by the company and recommend feasible solutions to the problems identified. The data were gathered from the company's files and records; through personal interview with the staff of the company and observations in the daily operation of the company. Other relevant information were gathered from CvSu Library and through internet. Almakar Builders and Metal Works used line and staff organization. The management implemented policies and practices on working hours, overtime, salaries and wages, dress code, safety and company property. The company motivated their employees in terms of financial incentives which includes cash bonus, free cell phone, 13th month pay, transportation and meal allowances, uniform, cash value, emergency loan and other incentives and benefits. The Almakar Builders and Metal Works is one of the contractor company in the province of Cavite which entered into government and private projects and whose business includes civil/building works, engineering, and maintenance and allied services. They also engaged in fabrication and steel works services. The government projects handled by the company passed through the bidding process unlike private projects which were not subjected to bidding. The clients transacted business directly to the manager. During the training, the activities performed were filing, photocopying, typing and encoding, communicating through fax machine and making payroll. Operating a business like construction was not easy because it has to pass construction processes and entails preparation of documents needed before a project can be started.
